Connecting an integrated oven and hob to a cooker point

Hi, we have recently replaced our double electric oven due to the existing one failing. This has now led us to want to replace the gas hob to match the oven.

The new hob is electric and im wondering if I can connect both the oven and hob to the same oven point which originally only powered the double oven.

New oven ratings below...
Supply connections: 20 A (double pole switched fused outlet with 3mm contact gap)
Max Rated Inputs: 4.12 kW
Mains supply lead: 3 x 2.5mm2 not supplied)


New hob ratings below....
Supply Connection: 30 A (double pole switched fused outlet with 3mm contact gap)
Max Rated Inputs: 6 kW
Mains Supply Lead: 3 core x 4 mm² (not supplied)

Looking at the fuse box it says 35 on the trip switch for the oven so im assuming a 35amp maximum load.

Would it be ok to wire both the above into the same circuit?

It all depends and as you are massively increasing the load on the circuit by adding the electric hob you should probably get it checked out by a professional.

That said, 35A is sufficient, given diversity, for both appliances to be connected, assuming the breaker is correctly rated for the cable. Also 35A is an unusual size for a breaker?

Why on earth would you want a ceramic hob instead of a gas one? Costs more to run and not as good

Put a picture up. 35 amp is not a standard size today. What brand is the unit?

Sorry your right, its 32 on the RCD.

Fuse box says Memera 2000AD on it and the trip switch for the cooker circuit says B32.



New cooker and hob are Baumatic models.


There is a 13amp socket next to the cooker point but this is wired into a separate switch above the work-top labeled hob which powers the ignition on the gas hob so I dont believe this is on the cooker circuit.

Just wire them both to the cooker point behind the oven. The socket cannot be used, it will now be redundant. Sounds like a well-done job if the socket has its own isolator.

You can purchase double cooker outlets.
