Hi, i am about to install a stoneresin shower tray onto a concrete floor, do i need to raise the tray for the waste to fit under - if so whats the best way to do this?
If not when the waste pipe goes outside under the floor, can this go straight into a manhole? drain? and does it need a none return valve?

thanx

If you know the tray you are going to buy go on their site and obtain installation instructions.
If you have a basin in same room that waste will be plumbed to an outside drain the waste from your shower can go into that.

If you want your tray on the floor you will have to chop out the concrete to accommodate the trap and pipe work or you can build a frame for the tray to sit on which will allow you to sort the waste pipe work easier and have access for the future.

Waste pipe work should be 11/2"- 40mm diameter

You will need a shower waste trap outlet.

Whats best to sit the tray on? wood? blocks? and does the tray need support in the centre or just round the perimeter? the tray size is 800x1400 if this helps.

thanx for the help

Stone resin trays are basically resin filled concrete with a gell coat surface & are quiet brittle. They need even support across the entire base & most manufacturers specify to bed on a weak mix mortar base as a condition of warranty. You can get an “easy plumb” tray which comes mounted on an integral plinth but it’s more expensive & obviously sits much higher off the floor. The manufacturer’s web site usually gives installation instructions; pick your tray & visit their website!
