Stuck tap cover

On my dripping tap the metal cover you refer to above is stuck.

It is completely smooth, so there is no way to get any purchase to undo it with a tool (I also do not want to damage it).

I have tried applying WD40, but this has not helped.

Do you have any suggestions to help me remove this cover?

i take it you are referring to an (easy clean ) cover

water pump pliers if its stuck


or a rubber strap wrench

forget about not damaging it you usually do icon_cry.gif
