Change hot water tap washer

I need to change my hot water tap washer,due to having a combi boiler do i have to turn the boiler off to stop the flow to the tap?

I know how to do the cold water taps, but to be honest i'm slightly baffled with the hot.

just shut your stopcock on the cold mains.

turn off the cold supply to the combi, this should suffice

But wont the combi still kick in when i turn the tap on to run off the water?

No flow to boiler = no flow switch activation = no boiler fire up
