Hotpoint dishwasher FDW60

HI

Can anyone help - my hotpoint dishwasher (FDW60) does not seem to be working properly. The machine will start the cycle and will wash and then rinse once it gets onto the drying sequence two lights start flashing which are: - fast and delicate (4 and 6 no including the salt one) - the dishwasher then does no more of the wash. I got my husband to tip out the excess water which we did then the machine started once again but did the exact same thing. We do not know alot about appliance and would appreciate it if anyone has any ideas on what this could be and how we can fix it - or does it mean we need a new one!!! Please help me - thanks Michelle

check the heater its open circuit .

Hi thanks for the reply I really appreciate it - sorry to be thick but what am I checking and how do we do it???

remove the base and you will see a tube heater, check it with a continuity tester of meter it will be faulty , new heater about 30 quid .
