Hi, I think my boiler thermostat is faulty (called out of calibration)? What happens is the heating takes ages to heat up now, the system is clean though the water is not sludged up at all.

How can I check for the boiler thermostat being the cause.

The hot water cylinder water seems OK though (maube it is less noticeable than the radiators)

The boiler is old, Potterton: Flamingo II RS50.

The pump is fine I have only had it fitted under a year ago, it is Grundofs 15-50. We have a 3 bed house.

The probelm has been this way for about 4 days now.

It might pay u to get an rgi to check your burner /gas pressure at the boiler ?????????

I haven't had the pressure adjusted on the gas valve though so it should be the same as what it always has been.

Do you think the injector could be a bit blocked up? What would cause this?

Would you say the boiler stat is probably not the cause then?

But there could be a problem with the incoming supply which needs checked by a rgi.
Other than that it is a circulation problem.

a quick check on your gas supply pressue depending on you having a gashob is. Put all your gas rings and cooker on full and note if the flames go down when you get the bioler to fire up.If they do you can assume your gas pressure is low, if they dont its ok. If you havent got a cooker ignore this,
