Query b4 I buy 3m curtain pole

Have had a look through other related issues on this subject but none are quite the same as I need.
Am looking to buy a 3m long, reasonably solid, metal curtain pole and want to not have a central support so that the curtains can be pulled from one side (patio windows are not in middle of wall).
The curtains are fairly lightweight and not lined - is it likely that this will work or should I think of something else?! Appreciate any guidance.

Depends how thick the pole is.

I know quite a few Poles that are thick too.

Should not be a problem, did they same with heavy curtains and used small diameter hand rail instead of curtain pole.

Thanks everyone, this has given me the confidence to give it a go! (Hang the cost - ha ha, sorry). Pole is about 2 inches wide I think.
