Im need to have some french doors installed, but all I've seen sem to have big ugly brackets on each side.
Is timber going to be the only option?

Yep, Pvc doors need those hinges to support the weight...
3 at a minimum per door for the weight and to hold the door tight against the weather seals.

sorry if im jumping in here on this topic but is it possible to buy hinges for upvc french doors that will allow them to be opened fully as the builder that fitted mine set them in slightly so the wont open fully against the wall.

i suppose im looking for something kinda like a 180 degree hinge or something like that
