Hi
could someone please help me.... My washing machine (WD420 hotpoint) washes fine, the cycle completes as normal empties, everything grand. But.... then the next time I look at it the drum is completely filled with water, my kitchen has been like a swimming pool about 3 times now. I removed the drawer to see if the water is leaking in that way but I don't see any dripping. Is this a really stupid question but can a drain pipe be too long and could this be causing the water to flush back in. This time there was no noise as it filled but previously it has made awful noises that sound like they are coming from the detergent drawer. Thanks for any advice as there is no way I can afford to pay hotpoint to come out.

check the waste pipe is not down too low it will cause syphoning, then turn off water supply to mc see if it fills could be weak valve letting water by.

Hi thanks the drainage pipe is above the level that it states it needs to be at on back of washer. its depressing now...
