dirty hot water, pls help

hi all, i have recently treated and flushed the C/H system. since then the hot water has been a brownish/orange colour. shurely the hot water and heating water shouldent mix in the cylinder? any ideas would be greatly apreaciated :confused:

depends what type of cylinder you have it should say on it what type it is. If it is a primatic you should not have added any inhibitor to it and may have got rid of then internal air bubble in the cylinder which keeps the dhw away from your ch water
 
thanks tomy, just been up and can't see primatic on it anywhere. it's only a small, slim cylinder and looks rather old.

soz only just getting back tomy, there are 2 plastic tanks. large one feeding the cylinder, small one feeding heating if that helps?
 
That suggests to me that you have an indirect cylinder and may be that the cyl coil has holed.If that's so then new cylinder req'd
 
thanks gasman, not the best news but if needs must :( . do you think replacing it with the same type or a primatic? from what tomy's saying, you can't treat the system with a primatic :confused:
 
Replace with indirect and then you can flush and treat system water with inhibitors as required.
