Wiring a 2 gang switch

I intend to use a 2 gang outdoor switch to operate (a) garden light (b) pond pump.

The wiring is all laid underground and meet at a central point at the base of the garden light. So I have the 3 core wire coming from fuse box and 3 core wire going to each appliance.

I'm sure it is probably common sense but can someone please give me the correct wiring so I create no problems.

The switches each have 3 double wiring poles.

What do you mean by "3 double wiring poles"?

What type of cable is it, and what size?

What is the rating of the fuse/MCB for the circuit?

What is the rating of the switch?

What is the rating of the lights and pump?

If the wiring is underground and meets at the base of the light, where do you plan to install the switch? What type of switch is it? How/where do you plan to have cable joints?

What is the rating of the switch? Weatherproof 20 amp 2 gang switch

What is the rating of the lights and pump? Light is standard 60 watt bulb
Pump operates off plug with 3 amp fuse

How/where do you plan to have cable joints? - The light is an old gas style street light now converted to electric with standard light socket. The switch will be mounted on the pole of the light and cable joints will be housed in the cavity of the pole.

Bring mains feed into switch

common up all the neutrals into a terminal block

connect the live feed into the two common ternials on the switch

take the two L1 switched lives out to the lights and pump

That's it

If you do not understand the above, or the replies from BAS, then get a qualified electrician to install this for you.

Capacity depends on how a cable is installed - what actual size is it? And what type? If it's armoured where and how is it terminated, and if not then how is it protected, given that it's underground?

The mains cable is armoured and the cable going to pond is in 2" pvc tube

Hadn't known about RCD will have to look into this, think best way will be rather than going straight to fuse box to use a 13amp plug with RCD fitted. Would this be ok? The fuse in plug for pond pump is a 3amp

Cables are all long enough so no joins required.

What about whether it's armoured cable, how it's terminated if it is, how it's protected if it isn't and whether there's an RCD on the socket the pump plugs into?
