previously painted walls/skirting?

hello all, have come over from the plumbing section to pick you chappies brains.

Renovating our 1950's property and currently stripping old paint off skirting. We have removed the majority of the gloss that was on them and sanded back. Was just wandering what the correct type of primer to use here would beon previously painted wood?

Similar question. Previously painted/papered plaster walls (Browning). Have sugar soaped and wiped down. Do we need to prime and again whats best.

Hi, With the woodwork, use an ordinary oil based primer to give a first coat to the woodwork, then undercoat and topcoat as normal.

If the walls are to be painted then use a contract matt as a first coat to show any imperfections, fill and rub down before applying any further finishing coats.

you only need primer on Bare wood - " spot priming " - seal any knots you have uncovered First Use White knotting.
