Hi

Just moved into our house which is a 'project' to say the least! In what is currently our kitchen we have two sockets that simply have a hole in the middle.

Would these be for connecting a washing machine or other appliance to? If so how are they wired?

Sorry if its a silly question but pretty new to all this!

many thanks!

Just a hole? i.e. a flex outlet plate?

No switch or fuse carrier on it?

Any fused switches nearby that seem to do nothing?

I don't know if you plan on doing any electrical work in this "project", but if you do then I think you should do a bit of studying to find out how it all works.....

Hi

Thats the term I was looking for! ('flex outlet plate') just needed confirmation of wiring in a washing machine & Fridge/Freezer?

Both have fused switches on the wall.

FI - I would say I have a basic grasp of the fundamentals of electricty...
however, I will certainly be getting in a pro for all the work

Yes, they are for connecting appliances to. The flex goes in the 'hole' and is held in place by screws on the other side.
