we have bought a new hob and were not tooooo sure in the regs regarding the instalation. Are we allowed to wire it or do we need an electrician??
Many thanks
You are allowed to do it yourself, but you have to go through a whole load of hoops for work in a kitchen (which is a special location).
Better to get a registered spark, unless you are really competent with electrical installations and have the necessary test equipment.
You can find a local one at www.competentperson.co.uk
EDIT: Good point RF. I had assumed it was a new circuit
no there is wiring already there. The only problem is that we would need to use a junction box from the old grey cable to the new black one .... hope you understand this
