Hi, want to change pump as very noisy and runs off balance, also hot water seems to take ages to heat up.
It's a Grundfos 15-50 pump

Is it possible to change the pump head by removing the allen screws? Will the new head seal ok after?

As long as the pump is reasonably modern then it should be a simple job to just change the head.

Fit the new seal and there should be no problem.

If there is any problem it would be that you have not diagnosed the problem correctly.

Even noisy pumps can still often be pumping properly. The shaft should be horizontal.

I assume you have bled the pump and its not air making it noisy?

Hi Agile - thanks for your help

Yes I have changed bled the pump, the rotor spins when turned with a screwdriver but not very smoothly. The resistance of the pump is also quite high. The pump's over 10 years old now.

If changing the head, will it need to be the exact same model?

yep unless you want to change the whole thing.

Try a parts place cos some vokera pump head's are a grundfoss and only cost £25 !
