Make sure part of the waste hose goes up higher than the point it joins your drain plumbing or waste water from elsewhere might find its way into the appliance. It might be a faulty solenoid water valve in the machine though. You can check for this by turning off the water supply to the machine for a couple of days to see if it makes a difference.
