Hi guys is it ok to have a consumer unit in a room with a sink and a toilet
this is a rewire or will the consumer unit have to be moved

There is no requirement, saying it is not allowed.
But environmental condition are not the best, in an area where a sink and toilet are in close proximity to the cu, due to the potential of water ingress or splash.
If you do not wish to move the CU, it would be best placed in a suitable enclosure/cabinet, that will prevent the hazard.
 
(it is rooms with a bath or shower, or jacuzzi, or swimming pool, that have special rules)

The first house my son and his girlfriend rented had the CU above the bath.
