The above boiler has stopped working. No lights on it at all. Pump etc. seems to get going when timer comes on. Has anyone any idea what the problem could be. Looking at instruction book seems not to be a boiler problem, but more that there is no electricity to it. The programmer etc. light up. If I remove fuse from spur point it all goes off and comes back on when fuse returned. Expansion tank is in loft so have not been up to look at it.

5 pin plug is on the left hand side as you look at the boiler and yes the pcb is the brain, only Ideal don't make very reliable brains!!

Good boilers if fitted by proffesionals, yes pcb's are dodgy, but once changed all will be good in the cosmos :) yea maybe 3 years maybe more, can you say the same for your car telly washing machine interest rate house price chines takeaway stock prices, yes life is one long disappointment, life's a bitch.

3 years!! I've had a floor standing Ideal boiler for 18 years without failure; likewise an Ideal wall boiler (also not condensing) for 9/10 years with no problems at all.

To have something keep failing every 2 or 3 years strikes me as appalling.
