Can anyone help.

Had a BT ADSL socket fitted by BT when house was rewired. Since a fault has occured on the line, the BT engineer in their wisdom has replaced it with a std BT master socket with a test socket.
Should he have done it as he took the adsl one with him away!!

Am I better of with the ADSL box or the normal socket?

Fault is still on-going but confirmed external issue with BY and their cabling to the exchange.

Thanks.

Rich.

It depends on what the fault was,the adsl frontplate is classed as the eu`s property,a engineer working on a normal line fault(not adsl fault) should not fit a adsl frontplate and if he is not adsl trained will not be carrying any on his van,if it was faulty he should replace it with a standard nte frontplate and tell you to contact you adsl provider
