If you are convinced the brushes are ok (& I take it you have checked them?) then maybe the out of balance function is kicking in. It can happen if the bearings are badly worn, there is a mechanical issue, or if you try to wash a single/heavy item. Normally the first symptoms of brush wear (and the progression of illness) is: erratic spin - no-spin - erratic wash - death.

i havent checked them personally matey. It will run a full load wash no probs, but then will just miss the spin cycle.

Its intermittant too. Really annoying

The symptoms you describe are typical of motor brushes wearing as zipper has said. Not the only possible cause but the most common by far.

As they wear the contact with the commutator becomes less electrically sound, heavy loads and spin cycles where the motor requires more power tend to be the first to stop working properly, progressing through

not spinning properly, not spinning, not rotating in wash and if unlucky bang new motor required as the brushes arc and short out on the motor.

eBay or google or a appliance shop near you

Sorry for the late reply. Yes it needed a set of bushes. I just cleaned them up and spun em round tbh. I t has gone again now tho so time to buy some.
