Hi,

The flow return service valve under my Vaillant ecoMax 622/2 boiler is leaking
badly from the screw. I understand that it's hard to get hold of this part.
Is this true ? Can anyone reccomend a source, an alternative replacement
or if it's possible to stop it leaking?

Thanks for any info,

Pete

anyone tried to repair one ? it seems they are about £40 to buy.

Nope. Presume its leaking from the spindle part. Its not a repairable part unless you wish to render it useless.

it's leaking from the screw head you turn to isolate the boiler - is that the spindle part ? could i not replace with a cheaper fitting like a 22mm isolation valve + a bit
of pipe re-arrangement ?

Not really, but you've learnt a boiler engineers' lesson - do'nt touch them -not just vaillant any of them. :)

if its already leaking youve got nothing to lose! open and close it a couple of times and then take hold of a hefty flat head screwdriver and a hammer ( honest)

Put screwdriver in isolation groove and hit it hard a couple of times with the hammer!

7/10 you will stop the leak if not.....start spending!

you can't replace it with anything other than a genuine spare as its not 22mm on the boiler side, its more like 19mm or similar.
