have a 24i junior, hot water working fine but when heating called on a couple of rads get hot then boiler shuts down, flow within a metre of boiler very hot, after a metre and return just warm, any ideas greatly appreciated

have u been toping presure up alot if so bled the rads
right still no joy right pump might have gone

Bi thermal heat exchanger, pump works on h/w also! This sounds simply like a circulation prob! Have you got a room stat?
What diameter is your pipework to rads?
Are all valves open?
what is the system pressure?

try bleed the pump and manually turn it to ensure its moving ok, also check pump speed if possible.
It could also be thermistors taking a false reading and cutting heating off before it has had a chance to circulate..

check the flow and return pipes and see if u can feel if they get hot
