Hi,
I have a Hotpoint wd61 with a motor not working, I have trawled the site for options and come to a halt.
I'd like to add that this is the first time I have been unable to troubleshoot by reading previous posts

Right  Motor dosn't try to turn I have
bypassed door interlock - no change
bypassed on off switch connections no change
tested continuity on field pins -all ok
continuity on armature-ok
continuity from each armature pin to each brush wire (disconnected from brush) to test TOC
swore at it and hit it john cleese style
looked at pcb for any obvious burnt tracks or blown componets

Now stuck

Have you removed the motor brushes for visual inspection.

Yes looked ok as they should as they were replaced last year but the terminals on the brushes had been very hot at some point as the plastic around the spade connectors had melted a bit so I heat shrinked them and thought i bet that the TOC would be blown but its not.

Have u checked for continuity from the motor wires to pcb

Rocks 1 - you are a grand A hero!!

wire to pin 4 had fractured inside the multiplug at the back of the motor
not visible from the outside as the multiplug connector block was holding the wire in place.

THANK YOU I can now wear fresh pants
