Hi Guys,

Moved into a new room and the radiator is a bit of a mystery.

Didn't work the first day. It has been bled and all other radiators work ok.
Next morning it was boiling hot - it worked all day no problem.
Day after - completely dead - all other rads working as expected.
Day after - completely dead.
This morning its working again.

Its a short, double radiator with thermostatic valve one side and other side the lockshield has a screw on cap (adjustable?) - of which the top part rotates - so its not like the usual lockshield with the screw you undo and take off the cap to adjust.

Any advice much appreciated.....

Thanks,

Mark.

Hi
What is the valve set to?
Is the trv in direct sunlight or near another heat source?
Next time it fails to heat up remove trv head.

I've left the valve on 1, 3 or 6 (max)
The rad is below a windowsil so the trv is shielded from sunlight - no other heat sources.
I have unscrewed the trv and the radiator started to heat up :)

now what?

Well if you removed the trv and the rads heating up it looks like the trv is faulty, you could see if the pin is moving freely for starters, or just swap it out for a new one
