Veritas Excell alarm box - turning power off

Hi all,

I've got a Veritas alarm, i'm thinking of having a loft conversion but the alarm box (were all the wires go etc) is right were I want my stairs! I was thinking of moving the box myself. If I turn of the mains power and disconnect the back up battery will this wipe the settings etc? I reckon if I note down all the connections I could re-wire the box in a new location. I dont have a engineers code so was wondering when if I powered it back up if it would work again without re-programming it?

Forgive my ignorance, iam meaning I wish to re-locate the control panel. Sorry for any confusion.

If you open the panel and downpower correctly, mains batttery, including SAB then you should be fine.
Make sure the mains is isolated before moving the panel.
Write on or mark with tags each cable and where the indivdual wires go from each cable. Doing thay and then going in reverse should be good.
If you make joints, make sure they are accessable and when terminated with solder and shrink wrapped ( best method).
