Whenever I get down to the second half of a tub of Boss White, it has started to go hard, and too thick to be used. Ends up getting binned.

Can I add anything to make it soft again?

Does this only happen to me?

Am I just being a tight-wad?

To take Kev's suggestion further about 5mm of linseed oil on top of the paste might help. You used to buy it to put on cricket bats!

But perhaps more helpful might be to cut a disc of plastic to act as a floating cover like that in an OV cylinder with an air bubble.

Of course your problem is probably because you dont properly close the lid!

If I was selling that stuff then I would put it in toothpaste tubes! ( No without the toothpaste Newgas! ).

1. Do more plumbing.
2. Stop using PTFE on olives. Use Boss White instead.
