Regulations for covering electrical wiring at a Premises

Hello and thanks for any and all advice. We are wanting to cover the meter, the 415 volt cutout box as well as a large amount of wiring in the entry way of our building which has a premises license. What type of material can we use in regards to fire regs? We are not covering the mains breaker or the mini breaker switches as they are all ready in neatly sealed units. Basically we are boxing in wiring and the electricity meter (which will obviously have an access door). Can we use MDF or do we need to use double thick plasterboard or something else? Thanks much!

I would use a fire rated mdf, and use exposed fixings such as screws and cup washers.

There may need to be access to the runs and routes, not just the panels, switches, fuse boxes, meters and head.

The big thing is access, consider what your work may do should additions or adjustments be necessary in the future.

I would also suggest signage to make absolutely clear what is behind such panels, the last thing needed is some contractor thinking be can mount a unit on such panelling with the potential to fix into LV and HV cabling and components behind.

Use a proper rigid plastic sign mechanically fixed to the door, not a sticker.
