I'm trying to make some trellis out of battens; 19mm x 38mm.

I assume the best way to fix them would be 35mm galvanised nails (lost head or oval head). I've checked everywhere but can't find them. The nails I want all start at 40mm.

Is there another way to fix the battens, or does anyone know where I might be able to get the correct nails.

Thank you.

these are 30mm

Thanks merlin50,

problem is, you will be able to see the head. I should have pointed out you will see the trellis from both sides.

Might be my only option though. What are they called?

I call them roofing nails. Others call them clout nails. The're heavily galnvanised. I use them for that sort of job. Trellis and fence batten splits easily, so I pilot drill it first. The galvanised head is quite rough and a splash of fence stain will hide it.
