I have a cold radiator the cause of which is possibly the Radiator Valve.
To remove it and check the bvalve - which I suspect is stuck, do I need to drain the radiator down first ?
There appear to be lots of other users with the same problem

Is it a thermostatic valve (head can be set to different numbers)? If so you can remove the head without needing to drain down. This will expose a pin sticking out of the valve body.

You should be able to press the pin down (about 6mm movement) and the pin should pop up when you release it.

If the pin will not go down, it is probably stuck. Tapping the side of the valve body with a hammer may release it, or use a pair of pliers to pull the pin up, but not too much.

A small amount of WD40 or silicon lubricant round the pin may help.
