I'm fitting a 40" lcd tv to my sons bedroom wall, its the swivel and tilt bracket, the wall itself is plasterboard and i'm fitting extra 3"x2" struts behind the plasterboard screwed into the existing studs, has anyone else done this and have any tips/views/warnings to this job. Thanks.

Hi dweeble

A few years ago on some luxury flats in London and we had a similar issue

we fitted 12mm ply onto the studding and the put the plasterboard on top

all the boxes were cut out for the power, VGA and coax (in the ply) so then when the dry line boxes were cut in the plasterboard you only have one material to cut out.

once this is done and plastered you have a decent fixing to secure your TV
(btw evict your son and I'll have his room :))
