Damp footwell in Fiesta

Hi,

I'm not a car maintenance person so apologies in advance if I don't use the correct terms

My mother-in-laws Fiesta has developed a wet patch in the offside read footwell, there's also a small amount of water in the boot and on the back seat under the actual padding. I can't see any leaks in the roof or anywhere above 'floor' level, Does anyone have any ideas what this might be due to ?

Also are there any books or other resources that are available that help you to diagnose faults in cars ?

This happened to mine - i replaced the door seal, this fixed it - worth a look on yours?

The rear lamp units are also prone to letting water in, as do the sunroof drain pipes if there is one.....time to shift the trim, dry out and give it a layer of talc in the suspect areas. Makes it smell nice, even if it doesn't show the leak!

just to add my 2 cent worth. I seem to remember some of those Fords
leaking around the top of the tailgate. At the hinges or wiring harness.

The only thing is she will appreciate it!!

Not as if your doing it for a stranger.
