I fitted a bedroom door last year, I used a standard door but the gap between the door and frame was fairly big so I guess the frame is wider than it should be. As soon as the weather changed the door shrunk and no longer closes as it is too far from the frame and the latch wont catch.
Is there any easy solution to this other than to rip out the door frame and and make it a standard size.

what type of door is it?

imo it would be easyer to get a door alittle bigger and cutting "1 or so off than remove frame, archs, shirting etc

if its painted you could add timber onto the hinge side of the door, eg plane the old hinge mortices out then glue/pin on a 12mm/whatever size lath on, plane/sand flush re chop hinges and paint

there is an option of adding to the frame, then adjusting the archs in abit on one side but there will be some makeup on the skirting and the gap were the arch was

it is a pine door, not painted.

the next size up on doors is quite a bit bigger and would require quite a bit to be chopped off by the looks of it, which would make it look odd. I may go for the tacking a bit more wood on the frame for now seeing as we will be replacing the painted frame sin the future anyway.
