My Mum is considering replacing her old gas oven with a new double oven (note: no electric hob - she has a separate gas hob). There is a std 13 amp supply for the ignition on the old gas oven - can she use this to supply her new double oven, or will she have to have a new (higher rated) electrical supply installed?[/b]

There are so many permations here that it would be impossible to answer.

Best start with choosing the oven you want and seeing how much load it will take and then come back on for advice.

IMO opinion I can't see a double oven working safely on a 13 amp plug top.

If you do get an oven that is fitted with a 13qmp plug then deciding if that existing socket is capable of supplying the load will have to be checked, and really the only way to do that is calling a qualified electrician
