new colour wiring

hi,
can anyone advise me if i can (due to the new electrical regs) spur off the back of a socket using the black/red wiring - even though the loop on which the socket is on is wired in the new brown/blue type?

yes. both colours can be used until next year (april i think)

but note there must be a label on the CU warning of 2 dif colours being used
