Compact 5 Alarm

Hope that someone can help me with this.

I have a Compact 5 alarm and recently I had to switch the mains power off when I was doing some DIY work. The alarm outside went off, and eventually stopped by itself. When I switched mains back on, the alarm had lost all its settings. Never had any trouble with it before. I tried to call the guy who fitted it (back in 1991) but the phone number is dead.


I think that I could just about manage to work out how to reprogram it as I have a diagram of the zones, but the thing I haven't got is the Engineer code. How do I reset the box back to factory condition? Any help/ advice appreciated, TIA.

Firstly replace the duff battery in the control panel.
This is what caused the problem in the first place.

You should change the battery every 5 years as a matter of course.

From what I know the charging system goes belly up on these.

Probably easier to buy a small panel and replace it.
You can pick up a Veritas R8 for not a lot.

Hi thanks for the advice, I think I can buy a new battery locally. But what about the engineer code? Any ideas? thanks again
