correct method of installing a strap on boss?

Hi just want some clarification on the correct way to fir a strap on boss to a soil stack

do you silcone the flange and fit the strap

or solvent cement it to the stack and tighten the strap ?

Use a 54mm holesaw to cut hole
Clean edges of hole with file
Solvent weld strapon to stack
Use rubber boss to conect 32 or 40mm pipe

Simples

Once you do it you will think that was easy

do you have to solvent weld the complete strap or just the flange

Check on holesaw size - it can vary between manufacturers. I would solvent weld the whole strap as well as the flange, and also solvent weld around the hole where the flange will fit on. I prefer glued bosses to rubber ones.

I use solvent weld right round the strap, some dont go right round with a screw to hold together.

The ones that don't go all the way around are called clip bosses not strap bosses
