Hotpoint electric EW51 Cooker. Oven won't heat

Evening all.

I got home from work to be told that the cooker has stopped working. yippee, cold tea for me.

Specifically the main oven isn't working (top oven/grill/hobs are fine). Its a Hotpoint EW51 Electric fan assisted oven. When you switch the oven on, the fan starts but the "on" light flickers dimly instead of turning on and the oven doesn't heat. Apparrently it was in use when the electric tripped.

I'm thinking its either the control switch or the heating element has gone, but I'm seeking a second opinion.

Classic case of element failed. Just to be sure check it with a meter.

I stuck the meter on the cable contacts and got nothing whatsoever. I've ordered a new element

Yep it's gone.
