Hotpoint Aquarius FDW60 Fault - Program buttons 4&6 flas

Hi I have an Aquarius FDW60 that stops during the wash program and pumps out. Program buttons 4 and 6 are flashing which previous posts would suggest is a heater element fault. However it is pumping out hot water. As the machine is cold fill only, I assume this means the heater element is working. Any ideas?

Are you sure cold water is entering the mc and is not connected to the hot supply
