I recently have had some work in my lounge and it the builder plasterboarded over the original plaster/render onto the thermalite block wall.

As the plaster boards were dot and dabbed, in order to fix the rad brackets to the wall do I need any kind of special fixings to go through the plasterboard and plaster/render and into the blockwork behind?

I guess I would have to use quite long fixings to ensure that a lot of the body of the fixing was secure in the blockwork wall to support a lot of the weight.

Any suggestions please???

You can use the type of screws they use for PVC window fixing, you just drill a pilot hole and then screw them straight into the block, no plugs needed.

Dont try to screw straight into block without drilling the pilot first because it doesn't work.
