Had a toilet put in back in October last year and we've got a new problem just started occuring this week.

It's one of those new types where there are 2 buttons for short and long flush. The problem is that after flushing it does not stop and continues draining into the loo, the button goes all floppy at this point.

Internally it seems a bit flashy, the button connects to a pipe via an unclipable connector and then down in the bottom of the loo there's a large plastic box with the following label on the top.

That website errors for anything other than the front page.

The ballcock mechanism also seems a bit high tech but that does appear to work ok. If you stop the water flowing in, that stops the water flowing on into the toilet and then it seems to work again for a while.

then it`s the high tech float valve letting by  and the water is running down the internal overflow - that`s where you need to look ;)

Thanks Nigel, I checked that, the problem appears to kind of be the opposite. The problem is occuring when the level is right at the bottom of the cistern. It's like the valve that tells it to stop is sticking

what model number is it you have ?
When you say the button connect via a pipe do you mean the blue cable ?

these are prone to sticking and holding the flush valve opn.

Ah yes, I see its a cable, there's no kinks or anything obviously restricting motion

I have the exact same problem, been like this for a while now and sometimes after flushing the water block mechanism goes down on its own or having to fiddle with the button a few times, or placing your hand into the cistern to give it a gentle nudge....don't know whether this is caused by something in the water making it stick or what?

However, have another problem to add to this, the device that fills the cistern up with water now is deciding to not allow it to fill. Either it drips dead slow to take hours to fill up or not at all....tried cleaning any dirt or scum but still no luck...

Typical, a chinese model too?
