Is it advisable to use a sanding machine on badly stained and darkened cork tiles? Thank you. NEB

over a fairly large area using an rectangular orbital sander use a fairly coarse grae of aluminium oxide sanding paper( it tends to be self lubricating and does not easily clog up as normal sandpaper would. For deep ingained dirt where the top surface has been damaged an 80 grit is best , followed up bt a fine grasde 120 or 180 grit
