I noticed that the Torbeck valve farts when shutting off. It's quite loud. I do not have any pressure regulator in the valve because its fed by the tank in the loft ( 2 storey house).
Anyone know what causes it ..

TIA

I often find that Torbecks cause more problems than they solve.

I don't know the reason for the noise, but I would be binning it, and fitting a Fluidmaster. Possibly the Pro.

if you write to the maker (I think its [email protected] ) they will send you a revised end-piece which stops this noise (free).

I remember they said it was a prototype back in 2007, so I don't understand why there are still some around that make this noise. I have only experienced it at mains pressure.

They also sent me a free replacement float when one of mine (older version) had a leak. Customer service seems good (the price is a bit high for such a small and simple device). I like Torbecks because they are so quiet.

Always dismantle and flush through as they are sensitive to grit or scale.
