I will be siting for an exam for the electrical license soon and from a past paper I've got the difficulty of what are the three types of MCB. Does an RCD is under the MCB cathegory?

B is 3-5 times nominal rating Magnetic fast Trip.
C is 5-10 times nominal rating Magnetic fast Trip.
and D is 10-20 times nominal rating Magnetic fast Trip.
The Thermal Bimetal Strip tripping action is broadly the same in all three types.

An RCD is a sort of circuit breaker which detects out of balance currents between live and neutral, such as someone getting a shock etc, and trips out when a certain level of current imbalance is reached.
