Hi, I've had a brief look at the other entries on this same subject but would appreciate some advice please...

I had a Mira Zest proffesionally installed by an electrician just over two years ago. Recently, it started to cut out mid shower and now it won't turn on at all.
When I say won't turn on, there is electricity to the unit, that much I've checked but there's no at all now.

An inexperienced plumber had a quick look whilst here fixing a water leak in my kitchen (it's like a plumbing nightmare here at the mo  ) but He could offer no better suggestion than that the on off switch on the unit may be broken.....

I can't afford to replace the whole unit and it's now stood unused for a while.

Does this mean that there is now no electricity at the shower?
If this is the case then check that your fuse and or MCB and RCD are working.

If they are then check the pull switch has not burn't out or a wire has come loose - make sure the power is off when you check this.

and what is the best way for a householder to check the power is turned off while doing what you say? riveralt

I really am suprised, given the electrical work that you say you have done and therefore your level of experience, that you don't know how to do this.
This document should help you.

A proving unit here.

But whatever you do - don't rely on one of these.

Or worse still - one of these
