Floating Bathroom floor???

If you have 60mm depth over the original deck & assuming it’s not moving around, I would consider laying a complete new screed with integral DPM under & extending up the walls & then tile directly over that; job done. I assume there is a DPC in the brick walls?

I had thought of screeding up to the tile height but just hoped there was a way I could get some insulation down there so the bathroom floor isnt absolutely freezing in the winter!?

2 of the walls are internal/party walls, single brick with no DPM.
1 external wall is double skin breeze block & dose have a DPM.
1 wall is a solid brick Gable end with no DPM, I was planning on building an internal insulated stud wall in front of this.

Nothing is straight forward in this old house!

I'm still probably going to go for the timber battens approach, but I've just stumbled across this website this morning which recommends T&G straight onto the insulation then 15mm Ply. Anyone think this is pants or OK?

I would still go with the batten option & I would definitely not use T&G chip for any floor I was tiling even if overboarding.
