Hello- Is this possible? I will be buying a house with 2 different tile patterns, plus an existing wooden floor. I'd like to expand the wooden floor room and cover the ugly tile in the room adjacent. Can wood be layed over ceramic tile? The tile is flat, not lumpy or textured, but it is not polished or sealed. The tiled room is also about a 4" step down from the existing wood floor room so having the wood run together smoothly is not an issue. My worry is the grout lines making the floor unstable. Thanks for any help! |

You could install the flooring using the floating method, first lay down DPM (against possible sweating of the tiles, if any) and then sound-insulation. __________________ You buy quality, we'll advise. You buy rubbish, we won't!
