Can anyone please help.

I tried the Central Heating today as it was a bit chilly.

(It hasnt been used for Approx 3 months, and last looked at proffesionly about 4 years ago. We live in a hard water area)

It is a Concord WRS 255A.

Anyway, the boiler started to make an odd whooshing sound which I ignored at first then realised a few mins later that the radiators were not warming up and discovered the boilers overflow pipe was shooting out boiling steam, hot water into the tank that holds the cold water for the bathroom taps. I turned the heating off and tried again. The same thing happened. To me, a novice, who has no idea but tries, it seems as though the boiler was low on water? so the small amount it was heating was being ejected as steam? I\\\'m sure that is completley wrong.

I was wondering if there is a simple solution? Any ideas?

Many thanks.
