Halogen downlights full of dead moths

I have 7 halogen down lighters in my bathroom and over time i get more and more dead moths in the glass bottom as they are open in the loft, i know i can buy loft caps to cover them but i was wondering whether i can make some loft caps out of spare plaster board (or cement board which i also have) as this will save me a few quid.

Any advice on this would be much appreciated

I don't have any old flower pots lying around, but i do have the cement board and plaster board, if i use the board would i need to provide any vent holes to allow heat to escape? the loft caps don't but this concerns me, am i being over cautious

You could replace the lamps with something better.
