Honeywell Galaxy 2 - Manager Password - How to change

Hi,

After following some instructions posted on the forums here I've setup my Galaxy 2 alarm, so thanks for that!

I've setup two users on my alarm with different codes, however I can still set, and worse unset the alarm with the default manager code.

I can't see where this user is setup and how to change the default code to something more secure.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

have you set it up for keypad access = always in engineering?
or reset levels?

if you aint done this it wont set, (if you have gerated an alarm condition)

master MGR code should reset this if it is set uup in engineering ok

Thanks - but I don't think this is my problem. I can set the alarm fine, and unset it - I don't have any error conditions. My problem is that I can still unlock it with the default managers code. Which is rather easy to guess!

I want to change the default managers code.

I have all the codes, I just can't figure out how to find the menu to change the managers code.

You'll have to excuse Oasis, it's an age thing.

If you've got the User manual, it's in there.

Look for Option 42

NOTE: The Manager code is always the last user code.

Select user 001 then scroll back with the B key to select it.

If memory serves the Manager code is User 24 on the G2 series panels
( Could show as 024 ), its been a while.

make me feel old............well i am, but thats not the point.

OP says he cannot unlock the system once set?
that would mean that the keypad is set to fob only (EN) should be set to always, from except entry,

irrespective of what code is used to set and unset, (or as we say, open the system and close it!!!, just being pedantic!!!)

so go into engineer mode and change the keypad access mode, in parameters setion, set it a s always, cant remember which section and i cant find the bok of lies for the G2.

i try to stay away from G2 panels, to much hassel, especially if i want to stick dualcom on them, stupid link lead set up.

i will stick with GD or G3`s

less spares to carry as well!!!

Agreed, the output link is crappy.
Just did a GD48 with dualcom. Fully loaded.
10 zone L2 fire with Ctec panel and a 16 cam CCTV.
Something to pass a week with

PS in the GD keypad defaults to always, unlike the G2.

yep mate the GD always defaults to always, but i still check it, as a matter of standard.

just started an upgrade on a fire system
98 heads 16 zone, 6 beams, 68 sounders
29 call points and 1500 mtr of FP200
this will keep 4 of us busy for about 4 weeks!!!

grade 1 / 1 listed building!!

oh what fun we are having!!!
