My wife and I saw a wallpaper in B&Q and fell in love with it. There was no mention of price or item number. But we took a photo of it as we wanted this to go in the front lounge of our new house. We could'nt find where the rolls were either but because we had not exchanged contracts I thought it best just to be safe not to buy or enquire about the wallpaper.

Now we are on the verge of moving and B&Q are saying they don't even know what the wallpaper is or the item number?! Why have it on display if you don't know anything about it?! I am going to include the photo of the wallpaper and if anyone knows of it or where i can find something similar it would be greatly appreciated. My wife would be chuffed! Many thanks in advance.

I agree. That wallpaper is a total disaster. You had a lucky escape there.

Each to his own I guess with taste. I probably wouldn't have it but I've seen worse and actually :oops: fitted worse in my house, it was at Next and reduced to 17p a roll but once it was on I realised it was hideous and ended up painting over it.
You may have better luck on the decorating forum. I'm not a decorator so the only advice I can offer is when estimating how much you will need then work on 3 drops per roll with a large pattern like that, I assumed 4 drops per roll recently and ended up buying more which luckily matched but if the paper is old or discontinued stock then best to buy more than you need.

Put one on similar to that from a shop called "Al murad". They've got a few shops around.

They mainly specialise in tiles but they do a big range of paint, mostly retail and some real fancy papers. These guys are good to deal with as well. No mucking around with vat after. What you see is what you pay..or less. ;)

Do what I did, once you've spotted the mistake, and paint over it.

Also, since you've posted this on the wrong forum be prepared for another cock up!

Never rated wallpaper over paint. However, that looks more like a homebase style rather than a B&Q. Best advice to get something similar would be to check Laura Ashley. Not a big fan of her supplies and find her wallpaper to be paper thin, but from a patterns perspective, she has a very large range.

As per my post in your other thread (incase you forget about that one);

I've had a look and it appears to be manufactured by French company Lutece. I've found the same design but in a different colour, mainly on French websites. I'll link you to a couple of them:

Other than that I can't tell you any more. Hope this helps though.

diyman000,

I was in my local B&Q today and saw what appeared to be the same paper. However, if it is the same, your picture doesn't do it justice - the roll I saw has a silver grey background and the pattern is flock effect and a sort of teal colour.
Unfortunately, there was only the roll that was hanging up on the display wall and none on any of the shelves. The display roll did have a tag hanging from it that said it was 'B&Q Colours Collection Louisa' and it was priced at £17.48 per roll - no code number though.

I have just tried looking for it on the B&Q website without success and also did a quick Google search which suggests that it is out of stock nationwide but the images seem to be of a slightly different pattern (not what I saw today which did match your image exactly) and priced around £9. :confused:

At least you now have the name of the paper (assuming the tag was right) so that you can get your local stores staff to try and find out if any is likely to be available elsewhere.

Do you know that one of the mistakes often made when someone is choosing a wallpaper is they tend to only judge it by looking at one roll rather than to imagine what it would look like on the wall/walls. I have over the years heard many people remark that we were going to buy that and now seeing it on the walls I wish I had.
